4. Select the correct sample type above the list. TSUs are preferred.
All Inclusive Kit - $35 (Includes an Allflex TSU, animal list, sample label, and prepaid return USPS shipping label)
BYO Allflex TSU Kit - $27 (Includes animal list, sample label, and prepaid address label. Member must provide their own Allflex TSU and pay for return shipping.)
BYO Non-Allflex TSU Kit - $29 (Includes animal list, sample label, and address label. Member must provide their own non-Allflex TSU and pay for return shipping.)
Hair Kit - $35 (Includes animal list, sample label, hair collection envelope, and address label.) We discourage the use of hair samples as they are more likely to fail at the lab.
5. Next to each animal that you want to have tested, use the dropdown arrow to select DNA
Profile.
6. Once you have repeated this for all the animals to be tested, click next.
7. On the next screen, double check your list and click Submit.
8. Make your payment on the payment screen.
9. Animals included in your DNA Test application will become invisible until the results come in.
10. The registrar will send you a package with the kit items. Packages are mailed out at least once per week.
Using the Kit to Collect & Submit Samples
Take your sample labels and TSUs (or hair collection envelopes) with you to the barn.
Use a TSU Applicator or your hair pliers to collect a sample from the first animal on your list. If collecting hair, place the sample in one of the blank envelopes and seal it.
Double check that the sample label matches your animal’s ear tag.
Apply the correct sample label to the TSU or hair collection envelope. Do not cover the QR code on the end of the Allflex tube.
Repeat steps 2-4 with each animal (thoroughly washing hair pliers between each animal if collecting hair samples).
Place the animal list and your labelled samples in a padded shipping envelope or small box.
Apply the supplied USPS label. If faster shipping is desired, discard the enclosed label and purchase another USPS expedited label.
Ship the package.
Be patient. Results usually arrive in 2-3 weeks, but sometimes take longer.
You will be notified if there are any test failures. Successful tests will automatically update your animals’ registration status.
