To register an animal born via embryo transfer, begin by logging in to your Grassroots account and selecting the Birth Registration option.

When prompted, choose Embryo Transfer (ET) as the registration type. Enter the required information for the animal, including the sire and dam. You will then be given the option to select the appropriate TSU DNA sample(s) for testing.

In addition, a completed ET form with a veterinarian’s signature must be uploaded through the VBSS portal.  The form found here (AI/ET Certificate of Service) is uploaded here: https://www.valaisblacknosesheepsociety.org/embryo-transfer

Once verified DNA results are returned and uploaded into Grassroots, the animal will be fully registered.

Please note:  If the sire and dam of your animal is NOT found in Grassroots, please contact the registrar.
